Mission: Impossible 7 director Christopher McQuarrie announced the addition of several new cast members via Instagram as filming continues on the latest film in the hit series. Cary Elwes, Rob Delaney, Indira Varma, Charles Parnell, and Mark Gatiss will play undisclosed roles in at least the seventh film, with the potential for their characters to appear in Mission: Impossible 8 (which was set to film at the same time as MI:7 before the pandemic).

MI:7 already has a large ensemble cast. Headed by Tom Cruise, the film will feature Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, Henry Czerny, Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, and Esai Morales. MI:7 will be released in November 2021, while MI:8 will be released in November 2022.
