The Russo brothers have rounded out the cast for their upcoming Netflix action film, The Gray Man, with Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, and the breakout star of Netflix’s Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page. Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush and Julia Butters have also been cast. The news was first reported by Deadline.
Previously announced cast members include Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas, with Gosling and Evans playing the two leading men; Evans will take on the antagonist role.
The film follows Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling) as he’s hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), his former cohort at the CIA.
Filming is set to start in the next two weeks and makes a new Netflix record as its biggest budget film to date. The script was adapted from the novel of the same name, written by Mark Greaney, by the Russos, along with Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The Gray Man is based on the first novel in the series, and there are hopes to create a franchise around Gosling’s character with films following the remaining novels.
