As we previously reported, actress, lifestyle blogger, and environmentalist Genevieve Padalecki has had a new project, take only what we need (towwn for short), in the works for some time. The wait is over, for towwn has officially launched!
It’s been over a year since our adventure in the Great Bear Rainforest & I haven’t wanted to go back to life as “normal” ever since. And, thanks to the pandemic, normal hasn’t even been much of an option.

I want to shift my consciousness to focus more on the things that truly sustain us: people + planet. To take only what we need. Check out today’s blog for more on the origin story. I can’t wait to share this journey with you. Hope to see you around #towwn. https://t.co/rmuUBfDkaP

The initiative’s launch began with a day of livestreams. Guests in the “Around Townn” series included Natasha Nicholes from We Sow We Grow, Michelle Saahene, Maya Penn, Brooklyn Decker, Jhánneu, fellow Walker star Keegan Allen, Roam Ranch, and Trisha Sutton and Philip Speer.
Genevieve’s take only what we need is based on the idea that “sustainability is about more than saving the planet. It’s about reconnecting to what truly sustains us and learning how we can take only what we need.” towwn plans to amplify environmentalist voices and serve as a space “to share ideas, solutions and inspiration” concerning sustainability.
We’re so excited for Gen as she launches this new project! Make sure to check out the links to the lives that are attached below as well as towwn’s Instagram page and website. You can also catch more of Genevieve on The CW’s Walker on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
