Chris Mason Joining ‘Riverdale’ in Recurring Role

Veronica Lodge will have a new man in her life after the Riverdale time-jump early on in season 5. Deadline exclusively reported that Chris Mason from Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists will be joining The CW series in the upcoming season in a recurring role.

Mason will play Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) controlling and jealous Wall Street husband, Chad Gekko. “An Alpha Dog, Chad is threatened by Veronica’s life in Riverdale, especially her friendship with Archie (KJ Apa).” According to Deadline, Chad will be introduced in the fourth episode of the season, premiering on Wednesday, February 10, beginning the seven-year time jump.

Mason can also be seen in season 3 of the ITV/BBC America drama Broadchurch, the second season of USA’s Dirty John, and HBO Latin America’s limited series The American Guest.

Season 5 of Riverdale premieres on Wednesday, January 20 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW, followed by season 2 of Nancy Drew!
