In an exclusive reveal from TVLine, it’s been confirmed that Oscar winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones will join the Prodigal Son cast as a season 2 regular! Zeta-Jones’ role will be an “on screen foil” for Michael Sheen’s serial killer.

She will be appearing in the latter half of season 2 as Dr. Vivian Capshaw, Claremont Psychiatric’s resident MD. As part of the season 2 plot, Martin is assigned to infirmary duty where Dr. Capshaw enjoys giving him menial tasks such as cleaning bedpans and mopping the floor. However, she starts to see him in a new light (which is not a good thing) when Martin proves valuable in treating patients.

In FOX’s official press release, Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX Entertainment shared the following: “An extraordinary talent, Catherine Zeta-Jones is the perfect foil for the brilliant Michael Sheen. I can’t wait to see these two greats go head-to-head in a season that is bound to raise the bar set by an outstanding Season One.”

We can’t wait to see Zeta-Jones in her new role opposite Michael Sheen! Prodigal Son returns to FOX on January 12 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. C.
