Clancy Brown Joins ‘Dexter’ Revival Cast as Series Regular

As preparation continues on the upcoming Dexter revival, the show has found its primary villain. TVLine exclusively revealed that Clancy Brown (Carnivale, Billions) will star as Kurt Caldwell, “the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake.”

There’s no confirmation on whether Iron Lake will be the main setting for the revival. It may play a large role, as the last time viewers saw Dexter, he was a lumberjack in a (presumably) small town, which could likely be Iron Lake.

There’s currently no further casting news. Michael C. Hall will return to play Dexter Morgan and executive produce. Clyde Phillips will return to executive produce and showrun. John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, and Scott Reynolds also return to executive produce, along with Marcos Siega who will executive produce and direct. Bill Carraro will join as executive producer.

Dexter will begin filming in early 2021, with a tentative release date of Fall 2021. It will run for 10 episodes on Showtime.
