The upcoming Lionsgate film Chaos Walking announced today that they are prolonging the film’s premiere date from January 22, 2021, to March 5, 2021, so it can be released in theaters and IMAX. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the date of the film has been postponed. Initially, it was to be released in March of 2019 but was delayed for reshoots that took longer since Tom Holland was working on Spider-Man and Avengers, and Daisy Ridley was working on Star Wars. On the film’s official Twitter page, the admin posted the following message regarding the delay.

We know how important this movie is to a lot of you, so we wanted to make sure we gave you the best and safest viewing experience by pushing the date a little longer. we know you’ve all been patient, but it’ll be worth it! – CW admin

Chaos Walking released a few gifts for the fans today as well. Four new photo stills featuring Viola (Daisy Ridley), Todd (Tom Holland), Davy Prentiss Jr. (Nick Jonas), and Mayor Prentiss (Mads Mikkelsen).

Based on the 2008 novel The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, book one in the Chaos Walking series, it takes place on a planet called New World, where all the women were wiped out because of a deadly pathogen. That pathogen also created what they call Noise, a unique ability that lets others hear other people, and animals’ thoughts. When Todd meets Viola, who is not affected by Noise, oh, and is a woman, they go on a journey where they find truths about their home. Fans got a short sneak peek of the first introduction to each other.

Chaos Walking is directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) and written by Christopher Ford (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Patrick Ness. It stars Holland, Mikkelsen, Ridley, Ray McKinnon, Jonas, Kurt Sutter, David Oyelowo, Cynthia Erivo, and many more.
