It was that wonderful time of year again, The Game Awards 2020—coming together to recognize and celebrate everyone in the video game industry. Due to COVID-19, like the vast majority of events, it was live-streamed via YouTube. The award show was filmed in audience-less locations from Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo.

Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the night saw surprise presenter guests including Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Captain Marvel Brie Larson, Keanu Reeves from Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man Tom Holland, John David Washington from Ballers, director Josef Fares, the voice of Nathan Drake Nolan North, Reggie Fils-Aimé, and more.

The big winners of the night were Naughty Dog with The Last of Us Part II. They took home the win for Game of the Year, Best Narrative, and won the very first award for Innovation in Accessibility!

Before we get to the winners of the evening, let’s talk about some of the release announcements and new trailers. First up was Master Chief from Halo taking the fight over to the popular Fortnite, and the villain Sephiroth and his sword from Final Fantasy VII heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Among Us will see a new map getting added, plus the new trailer for Next Mass Effect was shown, and it is marvelous. Plus, let’s not forget the reveal of seeing Vin Diesel as the lead of the upcoming game Dinosaur Hunter. If you missed the live stream, you can watch it below.
