Disney Announces New Animation Movies and Series Coming Soon!

Disney Investor Day was a busy and successful day to say the least. If you missed it, Disney has announced a multitude of new movies, series, and projects that will be coming soon! Among the plethora of huge announcements for the day was the Disney Animation Studios report of new animations series coming to Disney+, and a new animated movie!

Hot off the press! Check out the new projects below!

First, Disney Animation’s first-ever original animated series will be making it’s way to Disney+! Those series include Baymax!, Tiana, and Zootopia+ to be released in 2022, and Moana: The Series to be released in 2023. Next, Disney Animation is teaming up with the Pan-African entertainment company Kugali for an all new, science fiction series called Iwájú that is slated for 2022.

Lastly, Disney Animation Studios is bringing the country and culture of Colombia to theaters (pending the pandemic) with their all new animated movie Encanto! Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the movie surrounds a magical family in a uniquely magical home in Colombia. Charise Castro Smith co-directed and co-wrote the movie, while musical mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music for this film.
