Get ready for one of the most exciting YA author team-ups. Entertainment Weekly has announced that authors Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Nicola Yoon, Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, and Ashley Woodfolk are collaborating on a new book!

The upcoming book is titled Blackout and will consist of six interconnected stories. It will follow residents of New York City as they’re hit with an unexpected blackout, revealing friendships, new romantic relationships, and uncover hidden truths.

Most notable about this book — besides the absolute talent and power of the six women behind it — is that it will specifically focus on and celebrate Black love and Black joy. Clayton stated that she and her fellow authors want to remind Black teens that “their stories, their joy, their love are valid and worthy of being spotlighted.”

Blackout is scheduled to release on June 22, 2021. Mark your calendars, because you won’t want to miss this.
