Deadline has announced that the upcoming sci-fi podcast Black Box has found its lead voices! The new podcast will feature the talents of Michael Cimino (Love, Victor), Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Chosen Jacobs (It), Jacob Bertrand (Cobra Kai), and Joel McHale (Community).

The podcast is described as an “homage to Spielbergian ’80s adventure films.” It follows four teenagers who come across wreckage of a crashed time machine and find themselves thrown into a conspiracy that threatens time itself. Cimino, Bassinger, Jacobs, and Bertrand will take on the roles of the teens. McHale will voice a scientist whose ego and ambition lead him towards a darker path.

Black Box is written and directed by Brian Siegle and produced by Siegle and Chase Kinser. Production is currently in progress for the podcast and is on-track to premiere in early 2021. The first season will run for eight episodes.
