NYCC Drops Trailer for ‘The Stand’ Based on Stephen King Novel

Share

A new limited series based on Stephen King’s iconic 1978 novel The Stand is set to arrive on CBS All Access on December 17, and thanks to New York Comic Con we have a trailer, which you can watch below.

King’s classic tale is about the Biblical battle of good and evil that emerges in aftermath of a global pandemic that kills 98% of the population. It seems like an oddly appropriate story for this year. Starring talents such as Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgård, James Marsden, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Amber Heard, and Owen Teague, this CBS production promises to be stunning, and the trailer does not disappoint. This year’s version of The Stand also has a little something extra that the precious screen version lacked: a special coda to the finale written by Stephen King himself.

So, hold on to the edge of your seat and get ready for the ultimate pandemic story to round out this pandemic year.
