Regina King’s ‘One Night in Miami’ Gets Theater and Amazon Prime Release Dates

The wait is almost over for the Regina King directed film One Night in Miami! Amazon Studios has announced that the film will open in select theaters beginning on Christmas Day and will hit Amazon Prime Video the following month on January 15, 2021.

One Night in Miami tells a fictional account of icons Muhammad Ali, Sam Cooke, Malcolm X, and Jim Brown as they gather one night in February 1964 after Ali defeated Sonny Liston. As the friends celebrate Ali’s victory, they also discuss their roles and responsibilities as influencers during the Civil Rights Movement, working towards a future of equality and empowerment for Black people. The film is written by Kemp Powers and directed by Regina King. It stars Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, and Leslie Odom Jr.
