After seven seasons playing Christy Plunkett on the CBS series Mom, Anna Faris is leaving the show.

The show will not be recasting the role (thank you!) but will address Christy’s absence during the eighth season. I am curious to see what they do since her kids will still be on the show.
Mom is about a single mother of two, Christy, who is trying to get her life back on track after struggling with addiction. On top of that, she is trying to fix her relationship with her children and her own estranged mom Bonnie (Allison Janney), who also struggles with addiction.
The show also stars Kristen Johnston, Beth Hall, William Fichtner, Jaime Pressly, and Mimi Kennedy. Pending COVID-19 delays, Mom is said to be returning this fall.
