HBO Max Renews Selena Gomez’s Cooking Show ‘Selena + Chef’ for Season Two
Just two weeks after the premiere, HBO Max has announced that Selena Gomez’s quarantine cooking show Selena + Chef will be returning for a second season. According to Deadline, season two will bring a set of new recipes and once again highlight charities and have a new slate of culinary experts.
Selena + Chef sees Gomez cooking a wide variety of dishes while in quarantine, getting virtual help from well-known chefs by going step-by-step for each one. Selena + Chef also shows Gomez getting occasional help from her friends and grandparents who are the tasters. There was also a special appearance from best friend Taylor Swift in one episode when Gomez FaceTimed her to show her what she had made.
Culinary masters in season one included Ludo Lefebvre, Antonia Lofaso, Candice Kumai, Roy Choi, Jon and Vinny, Nancy Silverton, Angelo Sosa, Tanya Holland, Daniel Holzman, and Nyesha Arrington. Each episode also highlights a charity of the guest chef’s choice, to which Gomez personally donates $10,000. The last of the episodes for the first season became available today.
In a statement to the press, Gomez said she’s looking forward to challenging herself in the kitchen on the next season. “Learning from some of the best chefs in the world has vastly improved my cooking skills but I have a lot more to learn.”
All 10 episodes of season one of Selena + Chef are available to stream now on HBO Max.
