Hulu’s hit series The Handmaid’s Tale is back, and they’re ready for a fight. Season 3 left off with June taking a heroic stand and liberating 52 children from the Republic of Gilead to the safety of Canada, with the help of Lawrence, and both of the Waterfords are in custody for their crimes. The very final scenes saw June shot, but of course we can safely assume she’ll recover from her wounds and continue her quest to destroy Gilead.
The season 4 teaser was released today and it sees the return of a fan-favorite character (whose allegiance was a little ambiguous in season 3), June ready to rescue her daughter Hannah and planning with her fellow handmaids and Marthas, along with Lawrence, who’s at risk for being convicted of treason. We also see Fred Waterford, no doubt ready to do anything in his power to uphold the republic he’s created.
“This war isn’t going to win itself.” The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 will debut in 2021 exclusively on Hulu.
