Have a cosplay you were going to show off at a recently canceled convention? Maybe a Virtual Cosplay Contest is for you.
Never fear, those who were planning to show off their getups at Armageddon Expo’s first convention, which has since postponed because of the COVID1- pandemic, can now do so at their first-ever Virtual Cosplay Contest. This will enable the participants to enter the contest from the safety of their home, while still interacting with fandom across New Zealand and Australia and showing off their cosplays. They are confirming prizes and hosts, which will announce later this week. It will only be solo participants, no groups because of the social distancing and self-isolation.
The Virtual Cosplay Contest will be New Zealand’s first online interactive Cosplay Contest that will encourage a strong community of people to come together, which should keep the Cosplay community active and bring them closer. The judging will be done privately with the Armageddon Expo Cosplay Contest Judge Elizabeth’s World, as an interactive live group chat through Zoom, for detailed judging to keep with the high standard rules. Hopefully, it will give people the incentive to spend their time being creative!
