With the fifth and final season of Lucifer in its lasts weeks of production, it seems that Netflix is not quite ready to part with the show after all.

Thanks to an exclusive from TVLine, we now know that Netflix is in talks with Warner Bros. Television to extend the devilish drama beyond the yet-to-be-aired final season. No official statement has been made yet by Netflix or Warner Bros.

Netflix rescued Lucifer quickly after its shocking cancellation from Fox, where it had aired its first three seasons. Season 4 was a shorter season of 10 episodes and released on Netflix in 2019, a year after it was picked it up from Fox. One month after releasing season 4, Netflix announced a season 5 for Lucifer.

The upcoming fifth season will be 16 episodes, broken into two separate eight-episode halves, with a date yet to be announced for premiere.
