Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s award-winning theme park, has had a spectacular year, and it is only fitting that 2019 is ending with Wildwood Grove’s nomination for Best New Attraction in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards. Wildwood Grove, which opened in May, has six new ride attractions for guests to enjoy along with a climate-controlled indoor play area, new dining options, new retail establishments, and a striking, colorful centerpiece, the Wildwood Tree.
The current nomination is one more in a growing list of awards already bestowed upon the park in 2019. Wildwood Grove’s list of awards includes three of Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Awards, among the most-coveted awards in the industry, as well as several high placements in the 10Best polls. Additionally, Food Network Magazine also named the park’s world-famous cinnamon bread as one of America’s “Five Best Theme Park Treats” in its June issue.
In April, the Themed Entertainment Association honored Dollywood with its Thea Classic Award. With selective criteria steered towards the winner, the award’s presented to the top theme parks and attractions that have “stood the test of time.” Past winners of the award include Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, Silver Dollar City, Madame Tussauds, SeaWorld, Epcot, Europa Park, Disneyland, and the San Diego Zoo.
The honors further underscore the quality experience guests can expect on a visit to Dollywood. The park celebrates its 35th anniversary season in 2020 with the new Flower & Food Festival, returning favorites like the Gazillion Bubbles Show and Great Pumpkin LumiNights, and heartwarming traditions like Smoky Mountain Christmas.
