The wait is over to see who will portray Prince Eric for the live-action version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid!

Jonah Hauer-King has been cast as the regal Prince Eric and will star opposite Halle Bailey’s mermaid princess Ariel. Alongside Jonah and Halle will be Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Daveed Diggs as Sebastian.

Jonah is a relative newcomer to film, most recently seen in television mini-series Howard’s End and Little Women.

The Little Mermaid is being directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Mary Poppins) and produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).  The film will incorporate our favorite songs from the original 1989 animated classic and some new songs that will sure to become favorites as well.  New songs will be composed by Alan Menken and written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
