There is a new Sesame Place theme park headed to San Diego in spring 2021! Sesame Place San Diego will be the second Sesame Place park in almost 40 years, and the very first Sesame Place on the West Coast.

Sesame Place San Diego will feature all the same fun and learning of Sesame Street but in a highly immersive way. Including family rides, water slides, live character shows, parades, and more. The original Sesame Place opened outside Philadelphia in July 1980 and has been a prime destination for families nationwide for nearly four decades.

Sesame Street will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, and this announcement is a large part of the year-long celebration. In addition, the opening of Sesame Street Land in Orlando will feature a land with six themed rides, over 30 innovative ways to play, and the park’s first-ever parade.

Sesame Place San Diego will open as a Certified Autism Center (CAC), mirroring Sesame Place Philadelphia, which was the first theme park in the world to achieve a CAC designation.
