According to reports from Deadline, Blythe Danner, who is known for her roles on Will And Grace, Patrick Melrose and Gypsy, will join Starz’ drama American Gods for its third season, which is supposed to start filming in the next few months.
Danner will play Demeter, who is the Greek goddess of Harvest. Her character in the book has a connection to Mr. Wednesday (played by Ian McShane), who will undoubtedly try and recruit her for his intended war of the gods. In the book, her character is placed in a mental institution, so it will be interesting to find out how the series will portray this part of her story arc.
The series is based on the book by Neil Gaiman, whose work was also the inspiration to one of the biggest streaming hits in 2019, Good Omens. There is no premiere date for season three, so keep checking back here for more information and updates!
