Hip-hugger jeans, nerd ropes, and Britney Spears are just a few favorite things from the 90’s. However, all of those fail in comparison to a group of friends who sat on the infamous Central Perk’s couch we know better than the couches in our own living rooms.

Friends set the bar for highly acclaimed half-hour comedies and while some have come close, none can really outshine the friends who became like family. From Ross teaching the ways of unagi to Joey’s catchphrase that is now used as a regular pick-up line on Tinder, the show became, and still is, a huge piece of the culture.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, there are a few events happening in the US. There will be a special screening of two episodes followed by a conversation about how the legacy transcended the years with executive producers David Crane, Marta Kauffman and Kevin Bright at Tribeca TV Festival on Friday, September 13.  “The One With the Embryos” and “The One Where Everybody Finds Out” are no doubt episodes you can quote word-for-word. Both will be shown in 4k digital restoration for the first time.

While it might not be the reunion movie we so desperately want, we will finally see the characters brought to life on the silver screen. In a viewing of twelve episodes from the series, Fathom Events is hosting a three-night theatrical dubbed “Friends 25th: The One With the Anniversary.” The episodes will be remastered in 4k with the extension of exclusive interviews and content. The event is set to hit over a thousand theaters across the country, details will be available on Friday, August 16. Ticketing information can be found on Fathom Events’ website.
