Fans are gearing up for another fan-led casting petition, this time for Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles to play Cyclops in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cyclops (real name Scott Summers), is a founding member of X-Men. The superhero is known for being able to expel powerful beams from his eyes, but must use special glasses in order to control the power.
Recently at San Diego Comic-Con, Reviewnation.net gave Jensen a pair of Cyclops glasses to try on, and fans swarmed to the idea. Bosslogic on Instagram also posted an art piece of Jensen as Cyclops which drew attention from Ackles himself, who commented on the photo saying, “…interesting.” There’s a petition going around here.

With Supernatural ending after Season 15, which is set to premiere in October, Ackles could have a clear schedule to make this work. Many fans have longed to see the actor portray a superhero, and this could be a great fit!
