In May, we told you about the upcoming science-fiction thriller Freaks, starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern. And yesterday, we got a new trailer, poster, and San Diego Comic-Con announcement!

On July 18 at 9 p.m. PST, the Theatre Box San Diego will host a screening of Freaks. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, as well as the star of the movie, Lexy Kolker, who plays the 7-year-old girl locked in her house by her father (Hirsch), who has warned her of grave dangers outside.

The screening will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Freaks has already racked up several awards, including the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival‘s Jury Prize, the Vancouver International Fantastic Film Festival‘s Emerging Filmmaker Award, and the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival‘s Best Film – Audience Award.

Freaks hits theaters nationwide on August 23. Watch the frightening new trailer below.
