As everyone knows, Beyoncé landed the role of voicing the adult Nala, Simba’s best friend, in Disney’s live-action version of  The Lion King. In addition to scoring the role, Disney partnered with the Grammy award winning artist to compose an original song for The Lion King soundtrack called “Spirit”.

Beyoncé has also created an entire album inspired by the film titled The Lion King: The Gift. The album will release along side the film July 19, 2019 and will feature other global artists creating more original music inspired by the sounds of Africa.
