Prequel to ‘The Hunger Games’ Trilogy Coming May 2020
Fans of The Hunger Games, rejoice! A new book is coming your way!
Scholastic announced earlier that Suzanne Collins was working on a prequel to The Hunger Games trilogy. The story will take place sixty-four years before the events described in the trilogy, during an era called the ‘Dark Days’ following a failed rebellion in Panem. The as-of-yet untitled book will be released on May 19, 2020.
Suzanne Collins described the book as follows :
“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” she said, “The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”
