‘Punky Brewster’ Follow-Up Series in the Works!
Soleil Moon Frye is set to return as the character that made her a household name in the 80s — Punky Brewster!
Punky Brewster was an Emmy-nominated show that ran for four seasons from 1984-1988. The show focused on a precocious young orphan that was raised by her foster dad Henry Warnimont, who could be described as a miserly old man. In the original series, Punky was abandoned by her mom at a grocery store with her dog, Brandon The Wonder Dog. And in the series’ first episode, “Punky Finds a Home: Part 1,” Henry finds her hiding out in an empty apartment across from his.
Punky was also known for her signature style — “I have two different feet, why shouldn’t I wear two different shoes?”
Soleil Moon Frye confirmed the follow-up series is in the works on her Twitter:

It is reported that the premise will be focused on Punky, now a single mother of three, when she meets a young girl who reminds her of her younger self.
A Punky Brewsterfollow-up series would follow the lead of other 1980s and 1990s popular sitcoms that have been making a recent return. Other sitcoms that have recently returned with original cast members include Boy Meets World (as Girl Meets World), Full House (as Fuller House), and Will & Grace.
