There has been speculation since Mark Sheppard’s Instagram post earlier this week about what new project he might be working on.  The photo he shared had the same aesthetic as the Men of Letters’ bunker from Supernatural, and with the #SPNFamily hashtag in the caption, many Supernatural fans were hopeful of a return to the hit show, despite Sheppard having denied it many times before.

Finally on March 1, Sheppard announced via Instagram that he was joining the cast of Doom Patrol, a new DC Universe show streaming on the DC Network as of February 15.  The photo shows Sheppard, drink in hand, with Cyborg, played by Joivan Wade, and Negative Man, played by Matthew Zuk.

There are other notable Supernatural alums on the show as well. According to IMDb, Julian Richings (Death) will be playing “Strumbanhfuhrer Von Fuchs,” and Curtis Armstrong (Metatron) will play “Ezekiel the Cockroach,” both of whom will be in at least one episode. IMDb has not been updated yet to add Sheppard to the cast, so there is no information about how many episodes he will be in or what role he is playing but we do know that his first appearance will be in episode 4, which will be available next week!

You can check out Doom Patrol now on the DC Network‘s streaming service.
