J.J. Abrams, director of Star Wars: Episode IX, confirmed today on Twitter that the long-awaited film has officially wrapped principal photography. Abrams posted a gracious message and shared a touching new photo of the current main trio, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe (Oscar Isaac). They are shown to be embracing on what appears to be a desert set.

Both the title and plot of Star Wars: Episode IX are still virtually unknown. However, with Stars Wars Celebration Chicago happening in April, more news on the movie may be coming soon!

The ninth and final installment of the Skywalker saga is set to premiere on Dec. 20.
