‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’ Cast Announced

Shameik Moore, who most recently came to fame for his voice-work for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018), was announced as part of a cast for a Hulu series called Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Joining Moore will be Ashton Sanders (from the critically acclaimed movie Moonlight), Marcus Callender, Siddiq Saunderson, Marcus Callender, Zolee Griggs (known from Ballers), and Erika Alexander (from Get Out).

The Hulu series is produced by Wu-Tang’s own RZA and Method Man, with Chris Robinson (known for his work on Star) as writer and director. It will span over 10 episodes and tell the story of one of the most famous and influential rap crews of the 1990s and early 2000s. It will be set in the early 90s in New York and will focus on the formation and growth of the crew, as well as their struggle in dealing with criminal activity and producing rap music.

Sanders will portray RZA in the series, while Moore will play the role of his best friend, Sha.

The series will not be the first film project for RZA. He acted and produced in the 2012 film Iron Fist and is at work on an upcoming movie called Angel Dust, which will be a horror movie dealing with a serial killer in Staten Island.

A release date for the Hulu series has not yet been announced.
