According to reports from Deadline, Sebastian Stan is in talks to star in Tim Sutton’s new drama The Chain, alongside of Jamie Bell, Margaret Qualley and Denise Gough.
The movie will be based on the short story of the same name by Tobias Wolff, which describes a series of events leading up to a murder, caused initially by an attack of a dog on a little girl, the events being connected to each other in multiple ways.
Filmmaker Sutton was most recently celebrated for his work Donnybrook, which also starred Bell and Qualley and was one of the favorites at festivals in 2018. The Chain hasn’t found a distributor yet, but with a star-studded cast and a highly recognized writer/director, it will most likely be successfully picked up at the Berlin film festival.
For Stan, this movie will be another project finding diversification from the blockbuster machine that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, like last year’s I, Tonya or Destroyer, which will be released this spring.
