Entertainment Weekly has released their August issue covers that will focus on how the Arrow-verse saved the tv superhero genre.

There will be five covers released for fans to choose from and collect. The covers will include Stephen Amell as Arrow, Grant Gustin as The Flash, Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, Caity Lotz as White Canary, and newcomer Ruby Rose as Batwoman.

Arrow, which premiered in 2012, is entering its eighth and final season. Amell’s character Oliver Queen/Arrow will have a new suit for the last ten episodes. In the final season, we will see the hero working for the Monitor trying to save the multiverse from a devastating event. To do that, Oliver will have to leave the comfort of Star City.

Arrow returns Tuesday, October 15 on The CW.

In the Entertainment Weekly article, Amell mentions “I’m very emotional and melancholy, but it’s time,” regarding the ending of the show. During the magazine photoshoot, Amell actually found out how it will end.

“I cried as [Marc Guggenheim] was telling me. There are a lot of hurdles to get over to make that final scene.”

In the behind-the-scenes video, you can see the cover photo shoots come together. The actors and actresses talk about the evolution of their characters and also provide some small hints at what is happening in the new seasons. They also talk about some of their favourite moments — like when they got to wear each other’s super suits!
