Psych the show might have been over for nearly seven years now, but our favorite not-so-psychic detective and all our other favorite Santa Barbara residents haven’t been gone for quite that long, with two movies already in the books. Peacock has just announced Psych 3: This Is Gus is coming soon!

The new film is set to show Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) and Groomzilla Gus (Dulé Hill) going rogue in an attempt to track down Selene’s (Jazmyn Simon) estranged husband in preparation for a shotgun wedding before the birth of Baby Guster, while Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) grapples with the future of his career.

Alongside the cast members mentioned above, original series stars Maggie Lawson, Kristen Nelson, and Corbin Bernsen are set to reprise their roles from the beloved series. Not only that, but Psych creator Steve Franks will be co-writing alongside Rodriguez. Both will also act as executive producers alongside Hill and Chris Henze of Thruline, with Franks also picking up a third role as director.

Originally airing on USA network for eight seasons and 120 episodes, Psych was a major success for the network. The first revival movie aired also aired on USA Network in 2017 to general success; however, due to his recent stroke Timothy Omundson was unable to play as large of a part as had originally been scripted. Thus when the second movie Psych 2: Lassie Come Home debuted on Peacock last year fans were thrilled to see their favorite no-nonsense detective back in action, as was the cast who have said that the first movie just was not the same without Omundson.

There is no release date for Psych 3: This Is Gus yet, but filming is set to begin this summer in Vancouver.
