HBO‘s wildly popular series Succession has added Alexander Skarsgård to its upcoming season 3 cast.

Skarsgård will play Lukas Matsson, a successful, confrontational tech founder and CEO. He joins a cast that currently includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Hiam Abbass, and many more.

HBO audiences know Skarsgård well, who previously starred in the network’s True Blood, Generation Kill, and Big Little Lies, which earned him an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance. His big screen credits include Godzilla vs. Kong, The Aftermath, Long Shot, and The Legend of Tarzan.

Variety reports that production on the third season of Succession was originally supposed to begin early last year, but the pandemic derailed those plans. The series is currently in production in New York.

Jesse Armstrong created the series and serves as showrunner. Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Will Ferrell, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Jon Brown, and Scott Ferguson all serve as executive producers.
