Luke Hemsworth Cast in ‘Young Rock’, Entertainment Weekly Shares First Look

Dwayne Johnson’s NBC series Young Rock has added a new cast member! Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed that Luke Hemsworth will play Dennis Erickson, Johnson’s University of Miami head football coach. He will appear in the penultimate episode of the series. Johnson was on the Hurricane’s team in the early 90s where he won a national championship, prompting him to attempt a professional football career. He entered the 1995 NFL draft where he didn’t make the cut so he briefly played in the Canadian Football League.

He then received a WWE contract launching him into stardom as Rocky Maivia (a mix of his father and grandfather’s names), before later becoming The Rock as we know him today. Young Rock focuses on all the different eras and important pieces of Johnson’s life that molded him into the multifaceted icon that he is today.
