The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards are finally back! On Sunday, May 16, the award show will celebrate and recognize some of the best recent installments across film and television. The following evening, the inaugural Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted will take place, an event specifically geared toward reality TV.

Though host and presenter details are still in the works, MTV has released the official list of this year’s nominees! Fan voting is now open here and will run until April 30.

Amazon Studios’ diabolical superhero series The Boys has received a total of four nominations!

First up is the Best Show category, in which The Boys is up against Bridgerton, Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris, and WandaVision.

Jack Quaid’s Hughie Campbell is finally receiving the recognition that he deserves — especially after all that he’s been through — with a nomination for Best Hero. His competition includes Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984), Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), and Teyonah Parris (WandaVision).

Season 2’s devious Stormfront — portrayed by Aya Cash — is up for Best Villain. Other contenders include Ewan McGregor (Birds of Prey), Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian), Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), and Nicholas Hoult (The Great).

And finally, that epic beatdown from season 2, episode 8 “What I Know,” in which Starlight, Queen Maeve, and Kimiko teamed up against Stormfront, is up for Best Fight. Competition in this category includes Final Funhouse Fight (Birds of Prey), Finale House Fight (Cobra Kai), Wanda vs. Agatha (WandaVision), and Final Fight vs. Steppenwolf (Zack Snyder’s Justice League).

The Boys, which is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is set in a world where superheroes exist. Many of them have a tendency to abuse their powers, but the worst of the lot can be found amongst The Seven, Vought International’s own personal team of celebrity Supes. Fighting back for justice are the Boys, a ragtag group of wayward vigilantes attempting not to die in the process.

The series has a killer cast that includes the likes of Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and more. Production on season 3 is currently underway. Minimal plot details are known at this time, but stay tuned and follow along with our coverage of all things The Boys in the meantime!
