Back in February, a star-studded cast lineup was announced for Amazon Studios’ upcoming anthology series Solos. Today, it was announced that the series will officially premiere in just over a month’s time on May 21.

Solos, which will consist of seven parts in total, explores the strange, beautiful, heartbreaking, hilarious, wondrous truths of what it means to be human. It will span our present and future and illuminate that even during our most isolated moments, we are all connected through the human experience. The series will grapple with topics such as time travel, A.I. bots, solo trips to the farthest reaches of the universe, scheming smart homes, a mysterious waiting room, near-future fertility treatments and illegal memory transplants.

Created by David Weil, Solos stars Uzo Aduba, Nicole Beharie, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Anthony Mackie, Helen Mirren, Dan Stevens, and Constance Wu. The series will serve as Weil’s directorial debut, on which he will be at the helm for three episodes. Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct and executive produce two episodes. Meanwhile, additional directors include Zach Braff and Tiffany Johnson.
