‘Hawkeye’ Spin-Off Focused on Echo in Development at Disney+

As exclusively reported by Variety, Disney+ is developing a spin-off series from the currently filming Hawkeye with creators Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen. According to Variety, the new show will focus on Echo/Maya Lopez, a Deaf Native American superhero who has already been confirmed as a key character on Hawkeye. She will be played by actress Alaqua Cox, who will make her acting debut in the role.

Echo has the ability to copy the movements and skills of others perfectly, a power that makes her a threat to her opponents. Thus far, little is known about Hawkeye or Echo’s role in it, with Disney and Marvel not officially confirming the spin-off yet.

Hawkeye is set to debut on Disney+ in late 2021.
