As part of their 2021 lineup, Netflix is releasing a new movie every week. Kicking off their April releases is their western-esque drama Concrete Cowboy, starring Idris Elba, Caleb McLaughlin, Lorraine Toussaint, Jharrel Jerome, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, and more.

Set in North Philadelphia, Concrete Cowboy follows Cole, a 15-year-old sent to live with his estranged father Harp. Though resistant at first, Cole soon becomes immersed in the rich history of the city’s urban cowboy culture. The film is inspired by the real-life Fletcher Street Stables.

The trailer teases the importance of the cowboy community so integral to Harp’s life that Cole eventually finds his way into. It also shows the tense father-son relationship between Cole and Harp, supported by strong performances from Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin. Watch the full trailer below.

Concrete Cowboy will ride its way to Netflix on April 2.
