It begins with absence and desire. It begins with blood and fear. It begins with a discovery of witches.
Fans of the romantic drama A Discovery of Witches are settling in for the season 2 finale this weekend, and an additional surprise has arrived alongside it — the first teaser trailer for the third and final season.
A Discovery of Witches is based on the All Souls Series by Deborah Harkness. As the second season took us through the events of the novel Shadow of Night, season 3 should bring the book that follows to the screen, The Book of Life. We’ll see the return of Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer) and Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode) to the present time as they face both new crises and old enemies.

Production on season 3 wrapped recently, and it was followed by a collection of casting announcements, most notably the fact that Peter McDonald will be taking over the role of Baldwin. Other additions to the show include Genesis Lynea as Geraldine, Ivanno Jeremiah as Chris, Parker Sawyers as Ransome, Toby Regbo as Jack, and Olivier Huband as Fernando.
The end of the trailer also confirms that season 3 will premiere in 2022.
