The New Mutants is coming to HBO Max! The superhero film directed by Josh Boone will drop on the platform on April 10, nearly a year after the film first postponed its theatrical release.

The movie has had a rocky road to release from the start, with multiple COVID-19 delays capping several years of reshoots and pushed release dates. The marketing for the film’s eventual release in August 2020 even acknowledged the delays, with the official accounts for the film using the tagline “In theaters August 10 … yeah, really” along with “Hell has frozen over.”

The horror-centered X-Men film focuses on five young mutants as they battle both inner and outer demons as they try to escape a prison designed to contain them. The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Charlie Heaton and is also available on Blu-ray.
