Sasha Calle has been cast as Supergirl in the upcoming film The Flash! Deadline first reported the news, which comes as director Andy Muschietti’s take on the speedster superhero is set to begin production soon. Calle received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2020 for her role on The Young and the Restless, but this will be her film debut. Calle is also a singer who released her first single “Ex-Factor” last year (a cover of the Lauryn Hill song).

This is the first time Supergirl will appear in the DC Extended Universe films, with the character appearing in The CWverse on television in Supergirl starring Melissa Benoist as the title character. The Flash is currently set for a November 2022 release date.
