The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the killer Dexter revival cast just got a little better. Jamie Chung (The Gifted) and Oscar Wahlberg (Manchester by the Sea) will join the cast in the upcoming revival.

Chung will play a famous true crime podcaster named Molly, who’s from Los Angeles. There are currently no specifics on whether she will be based in LA or the show’s main town of Iron Lake. However, it will be interesting to find out whether she’s aware of Dexter’s long stint as the Bay Harbor Butcher and if she will become a key player along with the Iron Lake PD.

Wahlberg is set to play Zach, the wrestling team captain at Iron Lake High. He’s described as “a bit of a bully, but generally the go-to-guy to have a good time. He’s the gateway to the in-crowd, which includes the daughter of the chief of police.”

Chung and Wahlberg join the previously announced Michael Cyril Creighton, David Magidoff, Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Jack Alcott, and Johnny Sequoyah. Michael C. Hall will reprise his role as Dexter Morgan. Hall will executive produce alongside Clyde Phillips, who returns as showrunner. John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Scott Reynolds, and Marcos Siega will all return to the show as executive producers, with Siegas set to direct six of the episodes. Bill Carraro also joins as executive producer.

The Dexter revival will be a 10-episode limited run from Showtime. It will see the return of Dexter Morgan years after the events of the season 8 finale, in which Dexter faked his death and abandoned his life in Miami. He is now living under a new name in upstate New York, in town of Iron Lake. Filming will begin sometime this month with a projected release of Fall 2021.

Watch the original eight seasons of Dexter now on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for more details about the revival as they become available.
