Earlier this year, director and actor Casey Feigh released his comedic short, Beginner’s Luck, which follows a team of strangers that “makes it all the way to the championship where they face the perennial champs, in this tale of a small-town bowling league changing people’s lives.” The film stars Matthew Gray Gubler, Lauren Lapkus (The Wrong Missy), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), and Mary Holland (Happiest Season). At this year’s Hollywood Comedy Shorts Film Festival, the short won big, taking the Best Film Grand Prize as well as the Best Spoof.

If you missed the chance to see the short film when it was screened at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival, you can watch it below.

The 2021 Hollywood Comedy Shorts Film Festival will take place April 22-25, 2021. The early deadline has passed, but filmmakers can still submit here until January 15 to meet the regular deadline.
