A trailer has been released for BBC America’s new original series, The Watch.

Inspired by the late Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels, The Watch “follows an unlikely group of misfits, The City Watch, who are forced to find the guts to save the world, surprising even themselves in the process. The comedic yet thrilling series pits trolls, werewolves, wizards and other improbable heroes against an evil plot to resurrect a great dragon which would lead to the destruction of life as they know it.”

Fans of the Discworld novels will recognize some of their favorite characters such as captain of The City Watch Sam Vimes, played by Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Lady Sybil Ramkin (Lara Rossi), Carrot (Adam Hugill), Angua (Marama Corlett), Cheery (Jo Eaton-Kent), and even Death himself (Wendell Pierce).

The series will premier with two back-to-back episodes on BBC America on January 3, 2021 at 8 pm ET/PT. The first episode will also premiere exclusively on the new streaming service AMC+ on December 31, 2020, with episodes released weekly. Make sure you check out the trailer below!
