Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke are venturing outside the towns of Riverdale and Hawkins for a new endeavor. Deadline has announced that Mendes (Riverdale) and Hawke (Stranger Things) are set to star in an upcoming Netflix movie titled Strangers. The movie will be directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who made her directorial debut with the Netflix original movie Someone Great.

Strangers is written by Robinson alongside Celeste Ballard. The film is described as “a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.” It will follow Drew and Eleanor, who decide to team up with each other and go after their bullies. There’s currently no confirmation on which characters Mendes and Hawke will play.
