The beloved holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas is coming to life in an all-new holiday musical special.

The beloved Christmas classic from Dr. Seuss made its television debut in 1966, becoming a household classic during the holidays. Since then, there have been multiple retellings of the story, including the live-action How the Grinch Stole Christmas! from 2000 starring Jim Carrey and 2018’s animated movie The Grinch, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rashida Jones, and Kenan Thompson.

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical holiday special will star Matthew Morrison (Glee) who will play the Grinch, Denis O’Hare (Big Little Lies) who will play old Max, Booboo Stewert (Descendants 3) will play young Max, and of course, Amelia Minto (The Lost Girls), will play the adorable Cindy-Lou Who.

The two-hour production of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical will air on December 9 at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT on NBC.
