An all-star cast has been announced for the film adaptation of the classic novel The Things They Carried. Deadline exclusively reports that Tom Hardy, Bill Skarsgard, Pete Davidson, Stephan James, Ashton Sanders, Martin Sensmeier, Moises Arias, and Angus Cloud will be part of the large ensemble cast of the film. The Things They Carried is a collection of short stories by Tim O’Brien about a soldier and his platoon living through the Vietnam War. It is well known to high school students in the U.S. due to its popularity in English and literature classes.

While individual stories from the book have been adapted before, this is the first time the novel in its entirety will be adapted for the screen. Rupert Sanders will direct the film with the script being written by Scott B. Smith. There is no word yet on a release date or who each actor will play.
