‘Concrete Cowboy’ Starring Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin Coming to Netflix in 2021

Coming to Netflix in 2021 is Concrete Cowboy. The film hit the film festival circuit and debuted with rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September. It is adapted from the book by G. Neri Ghetto Cowboy.

It follows young teen Cole (Caleb McLaughlin), who got expelled from school and got sent to live with his estranged father, Harp (Idris Elba), in North Philadelphia. Harp spends his time at the stables caring for the horses with the other urban riders who do what they can to protect the stables from closing. According to TIFF, the film focuses on family reconciliation and features “standout performances and drawing on the rich but oft-forgotten legacy of Black cowboys.”

Concrete Cowboy is directed by Ricky Staub, who co-wrote it with Dan Walser. The movie features Idris Elba, Caleb McLaughlin, Method Man, Lorraine Toussaint, Jharrel Jerome, Kadrolsha Ona Carole, Swen Temmel, Byron Bowers, Dominic Jackson, and many more.

Keep an eye out for the release date for Concrete Cowboy when it becomes available in 2021 when it will make its way to Netflix.
